Nach jahrzehntelangem Engagement für die Humanistische Union kandierte Klaus Scheunemann nicht mehr für den Ortsvorstand Frankfurt. Klaus Scheunemann (Jg. 1936) ist der HU im Dez. 1961 – noch im Gründungsjahr – beigetreten und hat das Leben des Frankfurter Ortsverbandes über Jahrzehnte geprägt. Mit kurzen Unterbrechungen war Klaus bis zum 30. Juni 2002 Frankfurter Ortsvorsitzender. Nachdem er das Amt aus Altersgründen abgegeben hat, unterstützte er uns weiter tatkräftig als Schatzmeister und Beisitzer im Ortsvorstand.<\/p>\n
Immer wieder thematisierte Klaus Scheunemann das Verhältnis Staat\/Kirche in Veranstaltungen, stellte die ungerechtfertigte staatliche Finanzierung der Kirchen zur Diskussion, beispielsweise zum 200jährigen Jubiläum des Reichsdeputationshauptschlusses. Die Bildung war ihm ein großes Anliegen, ebenso die Situation von Minderheiten.<\/p>\n
Klaus Scheunemann arbeitete als Hörfunk-Journalist – zugleich zeigte er dichterisches Talent: immer wieder erfreute Klaus uns mit seinen Limericks. Klaus verschickte schon Rundbriefe, als diese noch mit antiquierter Technik wie Wachsmatrizen erstellt wurden. Zum Falten und Kuvertieren traf sich der Ortsvorstand regelmäßig bei Klaus und Renate Scheunemann, und Klaus erleichterte uns die eintönige Arbeit mit seinen humorvollen Geschichten und Gedichten. Auf den Sommerfesten erheiterte er uns immer wieder mit Passagen aus Ludwig Thomas’ satirischem „Briefwechsel eines bayrischen Landtagsabgeordneten“ in schönster bayrischer Mundart.
