Der mittlerweile zwölfte Grundrechte-Report setzt sich erneut kritisch mit der deutschen und europäischen Verfassungswirklichkeit auseinander. Die Herausgeber beanstanden insbesondere die Sicherheitsgesetzgebung des Bundes und der Länder sowie deren Umsetzung durch die zuständigen Behörden. An die Stelle nüchternen Abwägens von Risiken trete zunehmend eine alarmistische Übertreibung in Verbindung mit weltfremden Versprechungen fast totaler Sicherheit durch zunehmende Kontrolle, Überwachung und präventive Maßnahmen gegen verdächtige wie unverdächtige Personen. Verdeutlicht wird dies an zahlreichen Einzelbeispielen. Schwerpunkte der aktuellen Ausgabe sind eine Aufarbeitung der Vorgänge rund um den G8-Gipfel von Heiligendamm sowie die erheblichen Verschärfungen im deutschen Ausländerrecht durch das sog. Richtlinienumsetzungsgesetz. Daneben beschäftigen die Autoren sich in rund vierzig Beiträgen u. a. mit tiefgreifenden Einschnitten in den Datenschutz, mit dem Gefährdungspotential von Medienmonopolen für die Demokratie, der Überwachung von Abgeordneten durch den Verfassungsschutz und der Kritik des europäischen Anti-Folter-Komitees an den Haftbedingungen in Deutschland.<\/p>\n
