Das soziale Engagement von B\u00fcrgerinnen und B\u00fcrgern halten die Humanistische Union und der Magistrat der Universit\u00e4tsstadt Marburg f\u00fcr unerl\u00e4ssliche Elemente jeder demokratischen Gesellschaftsordnung. Demokratie kann nach \u00dcberzeugung der Humanistischen Union aber nur verwirklicht werden, wenn auch sozial benachteiligte Personen und Personengruppen in ihrer W\u00fcrde und in ihren B\u00fcrgerrechten uneingeschr\u00e4nkt respektiert werden. Diesen Respekt vor der W\u00fcrde aller Menschen – gerade auch der „Underdogs“ – soll das<\/p>\n

„Marburger Leuchtfeuer für soziale Bürger­rechte“ <\/h2>\n

auszeichnen.<\/p>\n

In diesem Jahr verleiht die Humanistische Union die undotierte Auszeichnung nicht nur an eine Person, sondern w\u00fcrdigt gleich zwei Frauen, die sich in unterschiedlichen Bereichen herausragend zugunsten der B\u00fcrgerrechte sozial benachteiligter Menschen engagieren. Damit m\u00f6chte sie auf die Doppelmoral im Umgang mit menschlichem Leben hinweisen.<\/p>\n
