November 2005<\/p>\n<p>Bezirksregierung D\u00fcsseldorf, Pr\u00e4sidentenschl\u00f6sschen, Cecilienallee 1<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Symposium der Landesbeauftragten f&uuml;r Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit NRW und dem Institut f&uuml;r Informations-, Telekommunikations- und Medienrecht der Universit&auml;t M&uuml;nster<\/p>\n<p>Auf dem Symposium soll es um die Entwicklung des Schutzes der Privatheit in Recht und Gesellschaft gehen. Das Bundesverfassungsgericht hat im Volksz&auml;hlungsurteil von 1983 eine Gesellschaftsordnung, in der die B&uuml;rgerinnen und B&uuml;rger nicht mehr wissen k&ouml;nnen, wer, was wann und bei welcher Gelegenheit &uuml;ber sie wei&szlig;, f&uuml;r unvereinbar mit dem Recht auf informationelle Selbstbestimmung erkl&auml;rt. Das Symposium befasst sich mit der Frage, ob die vom Bundesverfassungsgericht beschriebene Gesellschaftsordnung bereits heute Wirklichkeit ist, in der n&auml;heren Zukunft bevorsteht oder &#8222;eine totale Transparenz&#8220; der Gesellschaft als blanke Utopie angesehen werden kann. Es werden rechtliche und gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen sowie die Bedeutung, die die Privatheit und das Recht auf informationelle Selbstbestimmung f&uuml;r die B&uuml;rgerinnen und B&uuml;rger heutzutage haben, thematisiert. Auf der abschlie&szlig;enden Podiumsdiskussion wird u.a.
