Prof. Dr. Franz M. Wuketits (Zoologe, Paläontologe, Philosoph und Wissenschaftstheoretiker\/ Universität Wien) ist derzeit auf Lese- und Vorstellungsreise für sein neues Buch „Darwins Kosmos – Sinnvolles Leben in einer sinnlosen Welt“. Auf Einladung der HU-Südbayern und des Bund für Geistesfreiheit München machte er am 15.10.09 Station in München zu einem Vortrag.
Die etwa 70 Anwesenden verfolgten in der Technischen-Universität aufmerksam seine eloquente Stellungnahme gegen die teleologische Auffassung, wonach das Leben in der Natur Resultat eines vorgegebenen Plans oder Sinns sei. Darwins Hauptwerk „Die Entstehung der Arten“ (erschienen 1858) deute Evolution als Wettbewerb um Tauglichkeit d.h. die jeweilige Ordnung in der Natur entsteht als Folge eines Naturgesetzes.
Evolution wird heute nicht mehr als gradliniger Vorgang gesehen, wissenschaftlich sei festzuhalten
a) die Irreversibilität der Entwicklungen in der Natur,
b) die Tatsache der Binnenentwicklung innerhalb der Arten, dass
c) Evolution kein inhärentes Ziel hat und
d) das Aussterben von Arten ein Wesensmerkmal des Evolutions-Prozesses ist.
Müsse man insofern jenem in der Vorzeit auf die Erde gestürzten Asteroiden dankbar sein, der letztlich den Sauriern das Aussterben bescherte und den Säugetieren den „Aufstieg“ ermöglicht hat? Solche Sinnbegründungsversuche sind sinnlos, denn einen solchen Sinn gibt es nicht.
Fazit: Sofern solche Sinnsetzungen Objektivität beanspruchen, darauf Moralsysteme errichten und in deren Folge Machtsysteme rechtfertigen, haben sie keine Basis in der Realität.<\/b><\/p>\n
Einige Beispiele der mit Verve einsetzenden Reaktionen aus den Reihen der Zuhörer:
Im Universum nimmt die Unordnung zu. Ist dieses Chaos der Sinn? Antwort: Sie nimmt zu. Warum sollte dieses Geschehen weiteren „Sinn“ haben?
Frage: Leben wir denn in der besten aller möglichen Welten? Antwort: Andere Welten kann man sich nicht vorstellen!
Frage: Sinn ist also immer von Menschen gemacht? Antwort: ja. Moral, Gewissen, Jenseits sind demnach allein gattungsspezifische philosophische Konzepte.
Letzte Frage: Sie halten es also für möglich, sogar ganz ohne (selbst formulierten) Lebenssinn auszukommen. Antwort: ja!<\/p>\n
Die Gesprächsenergie anlässlich dieser und weiterer Fragen war bald begrenzt.
