In seiner Einf\u00fchrung kam der Gastgeber, Michael Meyen, Professor f\u00fcr Kommunikationswissenschaft, zu dem Schlu\u00df, es sei ein \u201eKampf um Deutungshoheit\u201c, den wir aktuell erleben. Dazu geh\u00f6re die \u201e\u00f6ffentliche Diffamierung als Verschw\u00f6rungstheoretiker, als Querfrontler, als Antisemit\u201c.
\nDer M\u00fcnchner Stadtrat habe, so folgert Meyen weiter, mit dem Anti-BDS-Beschluss eingegriffen in \u201eden Kampf um Definitionsmacht\u201c und damit \u201e letztendlich die Zivilgesellschaft in M\u00fcnchen geschw\u00e4cht\u201c.<\/p>\n

Zumach thematisierte die Angriffe auf die Meinungsfreiheit durch Sympathisanten der israelischen radikalnationalistischen Regierung. Wie zur Best\u00e4tigung der Thesen des Vortrags gab es im Vorfeld Angriffe auf die Veranstaltung: Sie sei antisemitisch und stehe der Israelboykott-Bewegung (BDS) nahe. Das Pr\u00e4sidium der LMU aber lie\u00df nicht an der akademischen Freiheit r\u00fctteln.
\nAlso kamen in den v\u00f6llig \u00fcberf\u00fcllten H\u00f6rsaal mehr als 300 Personen, darunter auch 20-30 lautstarke Gegner der Veranstaltung.
