April 2008, mit der Theodor-Heuss-Medaille geehrt. In der Begr&uuml;ndung des von der Theodor-Heuss-Stiftung verliehenen Preises hei&szlig;t es: &#8222;<i>Die Herausgeber &#8230; erhalten die Medaille angesichts des au&szlig;erordentlichen Engagements, mit dem sie seit 1997 in einer j&auml;hrlichen Bestandsaufnahme zur Lage der B&uuml;rger- und Menschenrechte in Deutschland die Defizite, aber auch die positiven Entwicklungen, aufzeigen und damit die Verfasstheit unseres demokratischen Gemeinwesens einer durch Sachverstand belegten schonungslosen Realit&auml;tspr&uuml;fung unterziehen.<\/i>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>Der Grundrechte-Report liefert seit 1997 eine j&auml;hrliche Bilanz der Verfassungswirklichkeit in Deutschland. Der Sammelband versteht sich als &#8222;alternativer Verfassungsschutzbericht&#8220;, der anhand zahlreicher F&auml;lle &uuml;ber die Missachtung und Einschr&auml;nkung grundrechtlich verbriefter Freiheitsrechte durch den Gesetzgeber und die Exekutive berichtet. Im Gegensatz zu den Verfassungsschutzberichten des Bundes und der L&auml;nder bedient er sich dazu allein &ouml;ffentlich zug&auml;nglicher Quellen. Der Report erscheint jeweils zum Tag des Grundgesetzes im Fischer Taschenbuch Verlag.<\/p>\n<p>Die Preisverleihung findet am Samstag, dem 12. April 2008 ab 10.30 Uhr im Wei&szlig;en Saal des Neuen Schlosses in Stuttgart statt. Mit den Preisen sollen Personen und Gruppen gew&uuml;rdigt werden, die sich &#8222;<i>durch vorbildliches demokratisches Verhalten, bemerkenswerte Zivilcourage und beispielhaften Einsatz f&uuml;r das Allgemeinwohl<\/i>&#8220; verdient gemacht haben.
