Aber auch Twitter steht als US-amerikanisches Unternehmen sp\u00e4testens seit dem Schrems-II-Urteil des EuGH in der Kritik und eignet sich strenggenommen f\u00fcr eine B\u00fcrgerrechtsorganisation, die viel Wert auf den Datenschutz legt, nicht uneingeschr\u00e4nkt.<\/p>\n<p>Mit dem Beschluss vom 14.03.2021 hat der Vorstand entschieden, eine eigene Mastodon-Instanz im sogenannten Fediversum zu betreiben. Mastodon ist eine freie Alternative zu Twitter und bietet Kurznachrichten mit 500 Zeichen an. Alle Mastodon-Instanzen und weitere Projekte wie Friendica, Diaspora, Pixelfed, Peertube oder auch Nextcloud k\u00f6nnen \u00fcber das ActivityPub Protokoll Nachrichten austauschen und bilden dadurch das sogenannte f\u00f6derierte Universum &#8211; oder kurz: Fediversum.<\/p>\n<p>Dort im Fediversum finden sich bereits viele Organisationen, die Wert auf den Datenschutz und die Hochheit \u00fcber ihre eigenen Daten legen. So finden sich zum Beispiel digitalcourage, die Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Freiheitsrechte, None of Your Business (noyb.eu) von Max Schrems oder sogar einige Datenschutzbeauftragte aus Bund und L\u00e4ndern bei Mastodon. Da der Bundesbeauftragte f\u00fcr Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit in einem Schreiben an die Bundesbeh\u00f6rden erneut darauf hingewiesen hat, dass er gegen Facebook-Auftritte von Bundesbeh\u00f6rden ab Januar 2022 vorgehen wird, ist davon auszugehen, dass zuk\u00fcnftig freie Alternativen hier an Bedeutung gewinnen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Mastodon-Instanz auf <a href=\"https:\/\/mastodon.humanistische-union.de\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">https:\/\/mastodon.humanistische-union.de\/<\/a> steht allen Mitgliedern der HU offen. Die Nutzung ist denkbar einfach und unterscheidet sich nicht wesentlich von z.B. Twitter. Einige Dinge hei\u00dfen allerdings anders. So gibt es keine Tweets, sondern Toots oder Tr\u00f6ts, wenn man eine Kurznachricht schreibt. Statt zu &#8222;retweeten&#8220; wie bei Twitter, &#8222;boostet&#8220; man bei Mastodon. Im Prinzip funktioniert Mastodon aber wie Twitter. Nachdem man sich angemeldet hat, sollte man sein eigenes Profil noch mit ein paar Informationen \u00fcber sich bef\u00fcllen und kann dann auch schon anderen Nutzerinnen und Nutzern im Fediversum folgen oder nach den bekannten #Hashtags suchen.
