Nachdem die Meldung in der letzten Ausgabe leider vergessen wurde, möchten wir sie an dieser Stelle nachholen:<\/i><\/p>\n

Der Bundesvorstand hat auf seiner Sitzung am 12. Februar in Essen Prof. Dr. Fritz Sack in den Beirat der Humanistischen Union berufen.<\/p>\n

Fritz Sack wurde 1931 geboren. Nach einem Studium von Volkswirtschafts- und Betriebswirtschaftslehre sowie Soziologie sowie anschließender Promotion (1963) und Habilitation (1970) hatte er von 1974 bis 1984 den Lehrstuhl für Abweichendes Verhalten und soziale Kontrolle an der Universität Hannover inne. Danach lehrte er Kriminologie bis zu seiner Emeritierung 1996 an der Universität Hamburg, wo er auch als Leiter des Aufbau- und Kontaktstudiengangs „Kriminologie“ wirkte.<\/p>\n

Fritz Sack gilt als Begründer einer „Kritischen Kriminologie“ in Deutschland. Mit seinen frühen Analysen der gesellschaftlichen Produktion von Kriminalität, der Auswirkungen des Terrorismus (Protest und Reaktion, 1984), den Beschreibungen einer zunehmenden Privatisierung sozialer Kontrolle (1995), seinen Thesen zur Straflust moderner Gesellschaften und „Governing through crime“ (so sein Vortrag auf der HU-Tagung „Sicherheit vor Freiheit“ 2003) hat er sich den Ruf eines kritischen Diagnostikers erworben.<\/p>\n

Vielen Mitgliedern ist Fritz Sack durch sein langjähriges Engagement im Bundesvorstand der HU (1997–2003) bekannt. Wir hoffen, dass er mit seinen Ideen und Anregungen auch in Zukunft die Arbeit der Humanistischen Union bereichert.<\/p>\n
