Was l\u00e4\u00dft sich auf die „Sinnfrage“ antworten, wenn der Lauf der Welt von Anpassungserfolg und Zufall bestimmt wird? Nach einer knappen Darstellung der Darwinschen Evolutionstheorie zeigt Franz Wuketits zun\u00e4chst, da\u00df der Evolution selbst kein Sinn innewohnt, da\u00df sie nicht zielgerichtet verl\u00e4uft. Trotzdem bedeutet das nicht, da\u00df es in Darwins Kosmos unm\u00f6glich w\u00e4re, sich und seinem Leben einen Sinn zu geben.<\/p>\n

Dies ist dann freilich kein „h\u00f6herer Sinn“, sondern ein selbstbestimmter: Wuketits pl\u00e4diert f\u00fcr einen moralischen Individualismus. Moralische Individualisten ben\u00f6tigen den R\u00fcckgriff auf eine „h\u00f6here Ordnung“ nicht.<\/p>\n

In seinem Buch weist Wuketits darauf hin, da\u00df die Kirche noch in den 1970er Jahren die Evolution des Menschen akzeptiert hatte. Doch in den letzten Jahren breiten sich fundamentalistische Auffassungen aus – bis hin zur ehemaligen hessischen Kultusministerin Karin Wolff, die im Biologieunterricht die Sch\u00f6pfungsgeschichte als Alternative zur Evolution verbreiten lassen wollte!<\/p>\n

Franz M. Wuketits<\/a>, geboren 1955, lehrt seit 1979 an der Universit\u00e4t Wien Wissenschaftstheorie mit dem Schwerpunkt Biowissenschaften. Er ist Mitherausgeber der Zeitschrift „Aufkl\u00e4rung und Kritik“, Vorstandsmitglied des Konrad Lorenz Instituts f\u00fcr Evolutions- und Kognitionsforschung in Altenberg (Nieder\u00f6sterreich), Mitglied in Wissenschaftlichen Beir\u00e4ten verschiedener Zeitschriften und Institutionen, u.a. der Giordano Bruno Stiftung. Zahlreiche Ver\u00f6ffentlichungen, darunter \u00fcber drei\u00dfig B\u00fccher.
\nDen Lesern der S\u00fcddeutschen Zeitung ist Franz M. Wuketits durch seine Position zum Freien Willen<\/a> bekannt geworden.<\/p>\n
